About Me

Hello my name is Silpa. I am the premiere Irish dance and portrait photographer in the northeast, USA.

Hello! My name is Silpa. I'm a professional portrait and dance photographer based in New York City. As a Irish dance photographer I serve the Mid-Atlantic Region and New England Region.

I have combined my years of dance experiences and passion for photography. My photography business is unique in the sense that I bring not only my photography background but my years of experience working as a professional visual artist and my technical and artistic knowledge of dance and movement to create captivating dance portraits.

I have worked with world champions, professional dancers all the way to novice and beginner dancers.

I am also a life long Irish dancer. I fell in love with Irish dance at the age of 10 when I saw Riverdance on VHS (yes I said VHS from the good ole days). I danced and competed in the US New England region through my youth, teens, and college years. To this day my love for dance has not dimmed. I am still guilty of listening to dance music like I'm jamming to a hit song (Downfall of Paris and Drunken Gauger are two of my favs).

If you're anything like me, it's not unusual for you to listen to your favorite dance music for fun. The highlight of your day is going to dance class. Competition or performance day is as exciting as your birthday. Big hair? Makeup? Your non-dance friends don't have a thing on you! :)

Rince & Repeat is the story of my love for dance. My experience spans the gamut. I have worked with world champions, professional dancers all the way to novice and beginner dancers.

Rince (pronouned Rin-Ka) is the irish word for dance

My goal is to make every dancer feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera no matter their background, experience, or age because I believe every dancer deserves to have beautiful portraits to showcase their passion for dance!
